🖊Sam Farzaneh, BBC Persian 🔻 Within the next few weeks, elections will be held in Israel, followed by elections in the United States—two elections whose outcomes will determine the composition of the legislatures of the two countries. It appears that both electoral contests have been influenced by the war with Iran. The war that Israel and the United States launched against Iran has led to an increase in energy prices in global markets, and there is no sign that it will end soon.
Under these circumstances, the defense minister of President Donald Trump’s first administration, in an interview, said that the best policy for the United States toward Iran is to continue the country’s naval blockade. Mark Esper, in an interview with Fox News, said that the naval blockade is far better than a “ground attack that no one wants.”
