Roland Lescure, France’s Minister of Economy and Finance, on Wednesday, 13 Aban, in response to the Republicans’ defeat in the midterm elections in the United States, said that Donald Trump, the country’s president, still retains control over decision-making on foreign policy and that his behavior is unpredictable.
In an interview with the French television network BFM, Lescure said: “Either Trump decides to go beyond political disputes and accept that changes are necessary—especially regarding the price of gasoline, which directly affects people’s lives—and reduce the extent of his involvement in international affairs; or he doesn’t do that.”
He added: “To be honest, this is something that we should watch carefully in the coming days.”
