Reuters, citing a witness, reported on Sunday that security measures at the British Royal Air Force base in Fairford—used for operations against Iran—have been intensified in recent days.
According to the report, roadblocks and armed police have limited access to the base.
A U.S. Air Force spokesperson said U.S. forces in Britain remain vigilant and will take the necessary measures to protect personnel and facilities.
In July, after a warning from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps about the use of U.S. bombers from Fairford, Britain said it was prepared to defend the country.
