Ramadan Ali Sangdovin, a member of the Energy Commission of the Parliament, told Mahan House news agency: «Over the course of about eight months since the start of the war, an average American household has become nearly two thousand dollars poorer due to rising inflation from fuel and the increase in the prices of goods; and in Europe, there has also been a jump in diesel fuel prices to more than 40%, which has directly led to higher prices in the food basket, disruption in the transport of goods, and a fall in people’s real income.»
The parliamentary representative continued: «The United States and European countries must understand that energy security is not a one-sided commodity. One cannot use the tools of sanctions, creating disruption, and stoking fires in the oil hubs of West Asia to expect a calm market and cheap fuel. As long as tension-inducing policies are not stopped, more severe waves of recession and inflation will swallow up the fragile economy of the West.»
Sangdovin added: «The fact that Trump and the U.S. administration are trying to control prices by releasing 100 million barrels from emergency reserves is only a temporary painkiller.»
