The spokesperson of the Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that by closing the Strait of Hormuz, the Islamic Republic has violated international law, stressing the need for the return of freedom of navigation in this international waterway.

Majed Al-Ansari, on Tuesday, the third of Shahrivar, said at a press conference that what matters is the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring regional security and navigation security through diplomatic solutions.

He warned that any escalation of tensions, given the current economic conditions, would sacrifice the region and the world.

The Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson said that his country continues to make diplomatic efforts to bring the Islamic Republic and the United States back to the negotiating table, but he noted that these efforts have not been fruitful so far and no new development has taken place.
