Polish intelligence agencies are taking the threat of an assassination attempt on Prime Minister Donald Tusk extremely seriously, as the threat appears highly credible, spokesman Jacek Dobrzynski stated.

“There is a high probability that these threats will be carried out,” he said at a briefing following an emergency meeting of the intelligence services, noting that Tusk and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz received the threats around 5:00 a.m. GMT on October 11.

According to the Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper, the threats were received via electronic channels and contained information about the politicians’ residences and plans for the near future.
