Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Secretary of Defense, wrote, after reposting a message from the Lockheed Martin company about the company’s new agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense to produce multi-year F-35 fighter jets: “The Arsenal of Freedom.”

Lockheed Martin announced on Thursday, 30 Mehr, that it has signed an initial agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense to produce 850 F-35 fighter jets over the next 10 years.

According to Lockheed Martin’s official statement, in addition to producing the fighters, the agreement includes the supply of spare parts, upgrade equipment, and support services. The company said that the multi-year contract could reduce production costs and save billions of dollars in costs for American taxpayers.

The initial agreement has not yet been converted into a definitive purchase contract, and finalizing it depends on U.S. congressional authorization and funding.
