🔻Hojat Karimi, the managing director of Tractor Club, said in an interview with IRIB that the Islamic Republic government has asked for $100,000 for providing the government’s ceremonial aircraft for the club’s participation in the AFC Champions League: “It was decided that we would use a state flight to transfer to the UAE, but they would not grant us permission. Today, they informed us that we must pay a heavy amount of $100,000 for this flight.”

🔹Karimi said: “Given the current economic conditions, it is difficult for our club to pay such an amount. Maybe other clubs can pay this cost; they are state-owned, they receive budgets from the government, and then they return money to the government; but our situation is different.”

🔹He said: “We have written to the UAE Football Federation and Al Ain Club and requested that the necessary permit be issued so that we can travel with the club’s aircraft and not be forced to pay this expense. We hope the necessary cooperation will be provided. Otherwise, our participation will not be possible.”

🔹This comes as the president of the football organization of Esteghlal Club said on Thursday that multiple criticisms from Tractor Club have increased the travel costs with a state aircraft.
