🔻Office of Mojtaba Khamenei denies a quote attributed to him about Pezeshkian’s medical resignation

The public relations office of Mojtaba Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, without naming him, denied a quote attributed to him regarding a statement by Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf Kharazi about the resignation of the president.

In the public relations statement, it said: “In recent days, some quotes from the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic have been published in cyberspace, which unfortunately have provided the basis for causing public confusion and creating division and discord in society.”

Accordingly, “the post published on cyberspace in which a person claims to have raised the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic’s reaction to the letter of the respected president is entirely false and contrary to the facts.”

The statement emphasized that “the official source for publishing messages, news, and content” related to the leader of the Islamic Republic “is the information website of the Office of the Leader of the Islamic Republic and/or the website for preserving and disseminating the works of the Leader of the Islamic Republic.”

Qalibaf Kharazi’s recent remarks, made by a cleric close to the family of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, about Mr. Pezeshkian, had received extensive coverage in Iranian media and on social networks.

Mr. Kharazi had said that Mojtaba Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, “wrote, once again that Mr. Pezeshkian resign—if he resigns, we accept his resignation.”

Mohammad-Baqer Kharazi is the younger brother of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran; he is the brother of Massoud Khamenei’s brother-in-law.
