The Gremmy website writes about membership with voting rights that the membership with voting rights is “special for artists, lyricists, producers, sound engineers, musicians, and other music creators who work in the creative music industry.”

To be admitted to this voting-rights academy, “two strong recommendation letters from well-known and professional individuals in the music industry” are required to show that music is the applicant’s job and primary professional focus. This must be proven through the following: “receiving relevant awards and letters of appreciation, having a professional and active presence in the online space such as: releasing music works, music videos, and live performances and tours, media coverage including interviews and reviews and reports, and so on.”

All of the applicant’s works must have been released in the United States in an official and commercial manner and be publicly available through recognized music streaming and sales platforms such as Apple and Spotify, or through physical music stores.

Voting members and professional members must pay an annual membership fee of $150.
