Nuremberg Airport in Germany announced that flights have been suspended due to an air emergency.
A spokesperson for the airport told the German news agency that the emergency situation is “unconfirmed” and did not provide further details.
According to a report by Austrian state radio and television, the situation was reported shortly before the landing of a flight from the Greek island of Corfu, and Eurofighter jets escorted the aircraft until before it landed.
The police spokesperson said they are assuming an air emergency situation, but the matter has not yet been confirmed. Police have closed the airport grounds.
Last night, three separate pilots also reported seeing a physical object during takeoff or landing that may have been a drone. Police are investigating, and so far no link between the two incidents has been announced.
