NBC reported, citing a regional official familiar with the mediation process, that a new proposal put forward after the delay of the U.S. attack is not limited to nuclear negotiations, and also includes a set of reciprocal measures to reduce tensions.

According to NBC, the proposal includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz, stopping attacks in the region, including attacks by groups backed by the Islamic Republic in Iraq against Arab countries on the shores of the Persian Gulf and Jordan, and in return, ending the Islamic Republic’s naval blockade by the United States and resuming Iran’s oil exports.

The network emphasized that no agreement has been reached yet and that mediation efforts are ongoing. Also, as NBC wrote, talks between Tehran and Oman regarding the management of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz have reached the final stages, but these talks are separate from the issue of whether the Strait of Hormuz remains open or closed.
