NASA’s acceleration in the Artemis program; testing vital systems and preparation for a return to the Moon;
NASA, by publishing images, announced that the “Artemis 3” mission next year will send four astronauts to low Earth orbit in order to test the vital systems needed for future landings on the Moon.
The agency emphasized that it has been advancing the programs at full speed and, at the same time, has been accelerating efforts to ensure the success of the “Artemis 4” mission, the first human landing on the Moon’s surface in this program.
In the Artemis 3 mission, the main focus is on sending four astronauts to low Earth orbit and assessing the operational status of vital systems, propulsion systems, and the spacecraft’s maneuvering capabilities in real space conditions so that the technical infrastructure for the next stages is fully validated.
Meanwhile, the Artemis 4 mission is considered the final step for a human return to the Moon’s surface.
In this mission, astronauts, using spacecraft and advanced landers developed by private-sector companies such as “SpaceX” and “Blue Origin,” will land on the Moon’s south pole.
