Mohsen Meihmani, a member of the editorial board of Iran International, referring to Marco Rubio’s criticism of Amnesty International and his emphasis on the killing of protesters in Iran, said that these remarks reflect the same criticism that Iranian citizens have repeatedly raised about the silence or insufficient response of international institutions in the face of repression and the killing of protesters.
He added that criticism of dual standards and selective treatment of human-rights violations in Iran has previously been raised by political figures, media outlets, and some human-rights organizations, and now Rubio has highlighted the issue again.
