Masoud Pezeshkian, in a meeting with Vladimir Putin in Turkmenistan, said Tehran wants an end to the war and for countries to respect Iran’s rights, but the continuation of the United States’ “unilateral” approach makes an end to the war in the near future impossible. Pezeshkian thanked Russia for its support in the United Nations and said these supports have prevented the “imposition of the United States’ unilateral approach” on Iran. He added that the Islamic Republic, despite America’s attacks, has never left the negotiating table, and is now compiling proposals so that the final text can be reviewed through intermediaries and its own proposals can be conveyed. Pezeshkian also said that relations between Iran and Russia are being developed in all fields.
