Management of Najaf International Airport announced that all inbound flights from Iran and outbound flights to Iran from 2:00 a.m. on Friday local time have been suspended until further notice.
This decision was made based on official instructions from the competent authorities. In a directive, the airport management asked airlines and the entities responsible for flight operations not to take any action related to flights covered by this decision.
The management of Najaf Airport also announced that it will inform airlines of any subsequent instructions regarding the resumption of flights.
Hussein Al-Mahna, director of Najaf International Airport, had previously said that flights between Najaf and Iran are carried out normally, and that the airport management is awaiting official instructions so that as soon as they are received, they can be implemented.
The suspension of Iran’s flights at Najaf Airport was announced after Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization reported that it had stopped accepting flights from Iranian airlines at Baghdad Airport.
