Leila Moroti, a political analyst, referring to the meeting between Donald Trump, president of the United States, and Xi Jinping, president of China, and citing the emphasis by both sides on maintaining stability and expanding cooperation, said that despite Washington and Beijing’s differences over issues such as trade, artificial intelligence and Taiwan, the two countries are compelled to maintain a level of interaction and cooperation so that their rivalry does not lead to full-scale confrontation.
She added that regarding the Islamic Republic as well, China does not risk jeopardizing its relationship with the United States to the point of confrontation and prefers to play a role in reducing differences between Tehran and Washington through the path of mediation and negotiation.
