Kambiz Tavana, a member of Iran International’s editorial board, said Donald Trump is still raising two options: a military strike and reaching an agreement with the Islamic Republic, and no final decision about launching a new operation has yet been announced.

Tavana, referring to the deployment of the George Washington aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea and its being equipped with bunker-busting bombs and advanced weapons, said that American forces are prepared to carry out any potential operation quickly. According to him, Washington has strengthened its military capabilities in circumstances where unverified reports of attacks on oil tankers and mine-laying in the region have been published.
