Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, said in an interview with Fox News that Israel had provided information to Britain showing that an attack supported by the Islamic Republic was being planned, but, according to him, London “almost the next day” sanctioned Israel.
Netanyahu said: “We gave the British information showing that an attack was going to be carried out and that the attack was supported by the Islamic Republic. Almost a day later, they sanctioned us.”
He called Donald Trump’s policy, the president of the United States, in imposing sanctions and blockading the Islamic Republic “very effective” and said these pressures weaken the government’s economic ability to finance terrorist actions around the world.
Netanyahu also said Israel has prevented the Islamic Republic’s efforts to gain control over the Middle East, but, according to him, the main goal of the Iranian government is America.
Referring to the use by Islamic Republic officials of the terms “the little devil” for Israel and “the big devil” for America, he said: “In the end, they’re after the big devil.”
