ISNA reported that spring 1405 figures from the Statistical Center show that, with an increase in unemployment and a decrease in economic participation, women have been hurt by the labor market downturn more than other groups, and the gender gap in employment has deepened.

According to this report, the unemployment rate for women has risen from 13.7% in the spring of last year to 16.7%, while the indicator for men is 7.5%. Women continue to face unemployment more than twice as much as men.

ISNA also wrote that in this spring, nearly 800,000 people have been added to the country’s inactive population, and the number of people who are neither employed nor looking for work has exceeded 39 million people. Of this number, about 29 million are women.

According to this report, the unemployment rate among higher-education graduates is 11.6%, but for educated women it is 18.8% and for educated men it is 8.3%. ISNA concluded that even university education has not been able to reduce the gender gap in access to job opportunities.
