🔶 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps: Two oil tankers changed course in the Strait of Hormuz

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said in a statement released on Thursday, July 30 (August 8) that two oil tankers that, with U.S. support, intended to leave the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz, “after severe fires broke out on one of them, returned at speed.”

The public relations department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said in the statement: “On Wednesday evening, two oil tankers, having been prompted by American aircraft, intended to leave the unsafe southern route of the Strait of Hormuz, but after a severe fire occurred on one of them, both vessels returned at speed.”

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps did not name the tankers or state the reason for the outbreak of the fire on one of them.

In its statement, the Guards Corps also threatened regional countries and said: “Countries that intervene in aiding the aggressor will receive a harsh response if they do not correct their behavior.” The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also claimed that, given verbal threats and the United States’ involvement in the region, “the Strait of Hormuz cannot be reopened under current conditions.”
