🔻IRGC: Three oil tankers have been damaged in an explosion and fire in the Strait of Hormuz since this morning

The public relations of the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps says that since the early hours of this morning, three oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz have been damaged due to an explosion and a fire.

In an IRGC statement, it says these tankers were “in violation” and passing through an “unauthorized” route.

Iran says that the southern route, near the coasts of Oman where the United States protects passing ships, is illegal.

The IRGC public relations says these tankers caught fire due to “turning off navigation and identification systems” and “the provocative actions by the United States to encourage these ships.”

Officials from Donald Trump’s administration say the amount of oil currently passing through the Strait of Hormuz is higher than at the beginning of the war with Iran.

Oil prices have fallen in recent days, but they are still far above their price before the start of the war.
