Mehdi Mahdavi-Ázād, on the program “Eye to the Future,” said that state-run media, by introducing protesters as armed and trained for a coup, distort the reality of popular protests.

Mahdavi-Ázād, pointing to the contradiction between the allegations raised and the images broadcast of the protesters, said that forced confessions lack credibility. He rejected attributing terrorism and coup charges to the protesters and sharply criticized the Islamic Republic’s efforts to justify their killings and executions.
