🔻IRGC Spokesman: The U.S. “Iron Gate” plan is wordplay

The IRGC says the U.S. plan to impose a land blockade on Iran is wordplay and insignificant.

Hussain Mohebi, the IRGC spokesperson, referring to the new U.S. plan dubbed “Iron Gate,” said that the U.S. is trying—under various titles and schemes—to economically blockade Iran, but will fail:

“”We have good relations with our neighbors, and we have different routes available for these communications that are far beyond the capability of the United States to block.”

After months of Iran’s naval blockade, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) yesterday ordered the establishment of a special task force with the aim of limiting the movement of advanced weapons systems and other Iranian sanctioned items through the land borders and the Caspian Sea.

This special task force, which is called “Iron Gate,” will be made up of about 20 military and civilian staff members who will be stationed in Tampa, Florida, and will coordinate its activities with other U.S. government bodies.
