🔸Donald Trump: A deal with Iran is not my preferred outcome
Donald Trump, president of the United States, said that his special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, is negotiating to reach a possible agreement with Iran, and that he is “doing very well” in this process; however, he emphasized that signing such a deal is not an outcome he wants or prefers.
During an election rally in San Antonio, Texas, Trump told his supporters: “He is working on a deal with Iran and it’s going very well. I don’t think this is really something I want to do, but they’re willing to offer us everything they can to stop us from what we’re doing.”
The U.S. president also stressed that Iran “will never” obtain nuclear weapons.
Trump added, predicting that the conflict would end soon: “This war will end and this will happen very soon. It has to end very quickly.” He went on to describe Iran as a “defeated country” that “still has a little spark left, but not much.”
