Iranian media reported that Iraj Khajeh-Amiri, a veteran singer and one of the prominent figures of Iranian music and vocals, has died at the age of 93. Over several decades of artistic activity, he performed more than two thousand vocal pieces, composed songs, and songs in various programs.

Hoseyn Khajeh-Amiri, who was known by his stage name “Iraj,” entered the “Golha” program starting in the 1950s (1330s); a program in which appearing was considered one of the important criteria of credibility for singers of Iranian music in that period. Over the years, he worked alongside a number of Iran’s most prominent musicians.

His range of activity extended from device-based vocals and the radio programs “Golha” to folk songs and film music, and his name turned him into one of the well-known voices for several generations of Iranian audiences.
