Iranian media reported, by publishing images, that coffins of five members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, who were killed in attacks by the United States and Saudi Arabia on positions of militia groups supported by the Islamic Republic in Iraq, entered Iran through the Mehran border.
The media wrote that these coffins were transferred to Iran from the Mehran border.
Hours after attacks by the United States and Saudi Arabia on Iraq, some Iranian media outlets and Telegram channels affiliated with the government had reported the deaths of four IRGC members.
However, Jafar Saferi, head of the Islamic Republic’s consulate in Karbala, denied these reports in a video interview and said that the building targeted by the attack was “abandoned and uninhabited.”
