🔻Iran says that an oil tanker caught fire after hitting a mine near the Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s navy has said that an oil tanker on Saturday, while passing through an area described as “restricted,” in the east of the Strait of Hormuz, after hitting naval mines, suffered a fire.

Iran has tightened shipping restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz and is seeking to have control over the passage of vessels and the conditions of their transit.

Iran has also said that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until conditions are met that satisfy Iran.
