🔻Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the British government in a statement, calling its accusations “baseless.”
In the statement, it said: “The British government cannot avoid political and legal responsibility for its claims and their potential consequences by hiding behind vague terms without presenting evidence and sound reasons.”
Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused the British government of “fabricating security-related claims against other countries” and wrote that Tehran, “while firmly rejecting the baseless allegations raised against Iran, holds the British government and the designers and implementers of this unidentified operation with a forged flag responsible for all consequences arising from this falsehood.”
Hours earlier, Andy [Andi] [“Andy”] Programme, the UK prime minister, in parliament said that the security incident at the RAF Fairford air base was “very likely coordinated in Iran and almost certainly directed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.”
Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an hour later in its statement, without referring to this speech, pointed to recourse to terms such as “highly likely” and “almost certainly” as indications of accusation-making.
