Yahya Rahim Safavi, assistant and senior adviser to Mojtaba Khamenei, said on Monday, 20 Mehr, during a ceremony about the Strait of Hormuz that the Islamic Republic’s smart management of the Strait of Hormuz against the U.S. naval blockade is the main strategy.

He said the Strait of Hormuz is an inseparable part of Iran’s territorial waters and that restricting traffic through this waterway is the right and duty of the armed forces.

Rahim Safavi said: “The Strait of Hormuz is an inseparable part of our territorial waters; when this waterway becomes a platform for the passage of military equipment that directly targets Iran’s national security, managing and restricting traffic is not only a right, but a strategic duty of our armed forces.”

He also described the Strait of Hormuz as a strategic throat in the global energy network and said that despite efforts to create parallel routes, the world’s dependence on this structural passage remains.
