🔸The Islamic Republic’s Ministry of Energy said on Tuesday that power cuts to industrial towns will be reduced to one day per week.

🔸Mustafa Rajabi Mashhadi, deputy for power and energy at the Ministry of Energy, said that following a directive from Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, and based on an agreement between the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, “power limitations for 48 major industrial towns across the country have been reduced from two days to one day per week.”

🔸In recent years, Iran has faced a significant energy shortage to run power plants, and some officials of the Islamic Republic have cited the aging of electricity distribution and production network lines as other reasons for this shortage.

🔸Power cuts to residential rs, as well as factories and industrial towns, have become a practice in recent years for stabilizing the electricity grid.

🔸The deputy minister of energy, admitting to this shortfall, said the government has decided that “shutdown plans in the residential sector will continue” to make up for the shortfall in electricity for the country’s industries.
