Iran and Oman plan to inform an international body soon of their agreement on safe shipping corridors in the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated.
“Consultations between Tehran and Muscat were successful, and the parties reached an agreement on the geographical coordinates of the safe corridors,” the IRNA news agency quoted the diplomat as saying.
According to him, Iran and Oman “have reached a mutual understanding on the procedure for notifying the competent international body on this matter, and the relevant step will be taken in the near future.”
