The Syrian armed forces are not fighting in Yemen alongside the Saudi-led coalition, the Information Ministry reported.

“Damascus firmly supports Saudi Arabia, but its policy does not call for opening new fronts,” the statement emphasized.

Earlier, the Axios news outlet reported that Damascus and Riyadh were allegedly discussing the deployment of between 10,000 and 20,000 Syrian servicemen to Yemen to participate in military operations against the Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement.
