🔻Indian and Omani officials: An Indian crew member was killed in an attack on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz

Omani and Indian authorities announced on Wednesday that, following an attack on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz, a crew member lost his life.

According to AFP, India condemned the ongoing attacks in the Strait of Hormuz and the Ministry of External Affairs in a statement confirmed that an Indian national had died in today’s attack in the Strait of Hormuz.

Oman’s Maritime Security Centre also said that the attack led to a fire in the engine room and the “death of one of the crew,” and that 27 other people from the ship had been evacuated.

Earlier, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations organization had said that it had received a report of a “mysterious projectile” hitting a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
