Hundreds of American lawmakers gathered on Tuesday, Mordad 6, in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol to pay tribute to Lindsey Graham, a Republican senator. His colleagues described him as a congenial, humorous, and persuasive politician.
JD Vance, the U.S. vice president, described him as a politician who might fight others over one issue and support them on another.
Donald Trump also delivered remarks at his memorial service in the National Cathedral in Washington. Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, and Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, were also present at the ceremony.
Graham was a staunch supporter of the United States’ role in the world and strongly backed Israel and Ukraine. He was one of Trump’s best-known allies in the war against the Islamic Republic.
Graham died at the age of 71 due to a heart condition.
