🔻Opposition to FIFA’s controversial plan to transfer part of the World Cup’s commercial rights to private investors continues, and after UEFA, the North, Central American and Caribbean Football Confederation (CONCACAF) has also sharply criticized the program by issuing a statement.

🔹According to The Guardian, CONCACAF said it learned about the plan through the media and that no consultation had taken place with this confederation or other relevant bodies before its public release. The statement said: “We are deeply concerned about the absence of an appropriate decision-making process. The details of such an important plan should not have been made public before review within football’s governing bodies.”

🔹Under FIFA’s proposed plan, a new company called FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) will be established to manage the commercial rights of competitions such as the Men’s World Cup, the Women’s World Cup, and the Club World Cup. The value of this company is estimated at around $20 billion, and it is expected to raise up to $4.2 billion in capital by selling part of its shares to private investors. In addition, FIFA’s 211 member federations will have until September 19 to decide whether to participate in this initiative.
