A Gaman poll in conversation with Ammar Maleki; What do Iranians want after protests and war?

🔸 The Iranian Institute of Opinion Studies, a non-profit, registered organization in the Netherlands with the abbreviated name “Gaman,” in its latest poll has examined Iranians’ views on the protests of Dey and the war known as the “40-day war.”

🔸 The results of the institute’s new poll point to serious divisions in public attitudes toward the government, protests, foreign interference, and the political future of Iran.

🔸 According to Gaman’s report on the results of this poll, “about 25 percent” of respondents said they took part in the street protests of Dey, and the institute has estimated this figure as “approximately 14 million people.”

🔸 Gaman’s report also says that among participants, “71 percent” cited dissatisfaction with the Islamic Republic, “62 percent” cited high prices, inflation, and corruption, and “55 percent” cited calls by Reza Pahlavi as the factors they said were effective in their presence at the protests. Solidarity with the bazaar merchants’ protests and Donald Trump’s announcement of support for the protests are placed in the next ranks.
