The editor of The Jerusalem Post’s news section told Iran International that, amid the conditions of protests, in Iran, with the cutting of the internet and media restrictions, more than ever, voices of people who are facing repression, prison, and the danger of execution must be heard by the world.
Winston, who traveled from Jerusalem to Washington to take part in the fifth conference of the Jerusalem-based Nefdi Institute on Iran, said: “I want the people of Iran to know that they are not alone.”
Referring to a speech by Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, at the United Nations General Assembly, Winston said that his emphasis on the conditions of the people of Iran is a sign of solidarity between the people of the two countries.
Winston also described the Israeli delegation’s presentation of a Starlink device at the United Nations as a symbolic move to draw attention to the shutdown and control of the internet in Iran.
The Jerusalem Post news editor said that he and his colleagues are trying to bring to audiences outside Iran the stories of the families of those who lost their lives in the protests, prisoners, the injured, and people who are in danger of execution.
At the end, he addressed the people of Iran, saying: “Take care of yourselves and know that you are not alone; the world is with you, and we are trying to publish your message.”
