🔻The initial results of a CBS network poll of voters in the United States’ midterm election show that dissatisfaction with the state of the economy, rising cost of living, and Donald Trump’s declining popularity are among the most important factors influencing voters’ decisions.
According to this poll, the level of satisfaction with Trump’s performance has reached 38 percent; a figure that, if confirmed in the final results, would be the lowest approval rating for a U.S. president in a midterm election. About six out of every ten voters say that Trump played a role in their decision for the House of Representatives election. This is especially prominent among Democratic supporters, who largely vote with the motivation of opposing Trump.
About three-quarters of voters are dissatisfied with the country’s direction, and the number of people who assess their financial situation as worse than two years ago is more than twice the number of those who say their situation has improved.
