Donald Trump, the U.S. president, congratulated him after the U.S. Senate confirmed Jay Clayton’s appointment as the head of the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence on Tuesday.

In a message, Mr. Trump wrote: “Jay Clayton is an outstanding person in every way and will perform extraordinarily as Director.”

Following the resignation of the former director of the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Jay Clayton takes over the position.
