Donald Trump, the U.S. president, said the war with the Islamic Republic will soon come to an end and that the United States can end it in different ways.
Trump said on Friday, October 17, at the White House ceremony for “Columbus Day”: “Prices will fall sharply and this war will be over soon, in one way or another. We can do it in both ways.”
He also said the United States has prevented the Islamic Republic from obtaining nuclear weapons and has dismantled the military capability of the Iranian government.
The U.S. president added that the Islamic Republic no longer has a navy, an air force, or air-defense equipment.
Trump also said that the United States removed 28 million barrels of oil from the Strait of Hormuz the day before; a figure, according to him, that was higher than any other time, even before the start of the war.
He added that the U.S. Navy has blockaded the Strait of Hormuz and does not allow anyone to pass through.
