Donald Trump, the U.S. president, said in an interview with Channel 12 on Monday, 11 Aban, that he has no hurry to resume the war in Iran and that he is currently continuing to apply economic pressure on the Islamic Republic. He said: “I’m not in a hurry to take any action. We are crippling their economy.”
Trump added that the leaders of the Islamic Republic, contrary to his expectations, do not feel urgency to reach an agreement, but that now, more than at any time since the start of the war, they are seeking a deal with the United States.
Referring to Iran’s economic situation, he said that the Islamic Republic is facing a shortage of money and fuel, and that people are also tired of the current conditions.
Speaking about negotiations between Tehran and Washington with Qatar’s mediation, the U.S. president said: “We are talking with them. The talks are going well. The problem is that we are not sure who the decision-maker is, and we don’t want them to waste our time again.”
