The Director General of Environmental Protection of Tehran Province reported that images had been captured showing the presence of an adult male leopard beside a watering spot in the Dāmāvand Restricted Hunting Area. According to Mirzākareimi, the leopard was named “Damavand” last year, and “the renewed registration of his presence is among the results of ongoing monitoring of wildlife in the Dāmāvand Mountain area.”
