🔻Despite Real Madrid’s longstanding interest, Barcelona has now also entered the race to sign Rodri, the defensive midfielder of Manchester City. According to a report by the newspaper “The Athletic,” initial talks between the 30-year-old player and the Catalan club have begun.

🔹Rodri, who is under contract with Manchester City until 2027, appears more likely than ever to return to La Liga. The winner of the 2024 Ballon d’Or, who has honors such as winning Euro 2024 and the 2026 World Cup with the Spain national team, had previously expressed his desire to join Real Madrid in April.

🔹Real Madrid is looking to bring this key midfielder in for a sum of around €60 million; a hefty amount that will be difficult for Barcelona to pay.

🔹However, with financial limitations, the Catalans are urgently looking to strengthen their midfield line after the severe injury to Frenkie de Jong, who suffered a knee ligament injury, and they see Rodri as an ideal option.
