Daniel Ayouzy, a survivor of the massacre of Dey, said at a press briefing at the European Parliament that he described how he was injured during the crackdown on the protests: “When I tried to help an injured person, I was shot at with a bullet.”
He said that after being transferred to a hospital, Islamic Republic forces went to the hospital to arrest or kill him, but hospital staff helped him escape. He added: “Tens of thousands of my fellow countrymen were not as lucky as I was. The Islamic Republic massacred people simply because they wanted freedom.”
In closing, he called on the international community to stand by the Iranian people and emphasized: “We will not surrender until Iran is free.”
