The coalition led by Saudi Arabia in Yemen said early Saturday that it had intercepted two ballistic missiles and two drones fired by the Houthis toward this country.

Based on posts by the coalition on the X network, the missiles were moving toward southwestern Saudi Arabia and the drones toward Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia’s civilian air defenses sent a warning last night for the southwestern areas of the country, but did not issue a warning for Riyadh.

The Houthis have launched attacks on this country since July, after the announcement of a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia, and have targeted Saudi vessels in the Red Sea.

These attacks have targeted Saudi cities, energy infrastructure, and shipping, and have endangered the alternative route through the Red Sea for exporting from the Persian Gulf, while transit through the Strait of Hormuz remains largely blocked.
