🔻China’s president will travel to the United States on Wednesday to meet Trump

Xi Jinping will travel to the United States to talk with Donald Trump.

China’s government today confirmed the trip and said the president will be there from Wednesday to Friday.

Guo Jiaakong, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the two leaders will have “in-depth exchanges” on major issues in China-U.S. relations and on global peace and development.

Washington had previously said that the two leaders would meet this week.

A U.S. official confirmed that Donald Trump will greet Mr. Xi at Andrewes Base on Wednesday and that they will meet the next day. When the U.S. president visited Beijing in May, the Chinese vice president had greeted him.

Mr. Trump told reporters yesterday: “I will talk with him about almost everything.”
