Ismail Abedi, a teachers’ trade activist, said the sharp increase in the costs at the beginning of the school year, along with poverty and inequality, is keeping more families from continuing their children’s education. He added that, according to him, a shortage of teachers, an increase in the number of students who drop out of school, and economic pressures have put the education system facing a serious crisis.

Abedi also said that, in addition to livelihood problems, teachers are also dealing with restrictions and security pressures. He added that, according to him, case-building against teachers, a lack of educational personnel, and teachers working rotating shifts have affected the quality of education and have raised serious concerns about the future of the education system.
