Associated Press reported that a team led by Hawkins, a spokesperson for U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), rejected reports by Iran’s state media about an American unmanned vessel being targeted in the Strait of Hormuz and said: “This is completely false.”

Iran’s state media had reported that the American vessel intended to enter a part of the Strait of Hormuz that the Islamic Republic has declared a prohibited area.

The report was published a day after the U.S. military said its forces, in response to the Islamic Republic’s ballistic missile attacks on U.S. Navy vessels, targeted three Iranian oil tankers.

Associated Press wrote that clashes between the Islamic Republic and the United States resumed last week after about a month of calm.

CENTCOM also announced on Sunday that during the execution of Iran’s naval blockade, American forces changed the routes of 92 commercial ships, disabled three, and boarded two other vessels.
