The Israeli army said on Friday, the first day of Aban, that a military operation in the Hebron area in the West Bank would continue for several days, after two Israeli soldiers were killed in an armed attack.
According to this statement, the Israeli army forces and security institutions have begun searches to find weapons and infrastructure belonging to armed groups, and to interrogate suspects.
The Israeli army said residents of the areas where the operation will take place can leave through three designated routes after interrogation and security screening. People identified as suspicious during the screening will be handed over to security forces for further questioning.
The operation began after an armed attack by two Palestinians near Hebron in which two Israeli soldiers were killed and three others were injured. Israeli forces also killed both attackers.
